It’s quite amazing we still keep in touch, cos we weren’t really that close with each other even when we were in the same class (and that was like 3 years ago). Yup, but even so, it’s good to see them after soooo long. Esp ShuTing (:
Although the bbq was suppose to be a GATHERING, but somehow I don’t’ think we were anywhere close TOGETHER leh. I mean, sure, we’re like together at the same place, but that doesn’t mean that we’re interacting much at all. It was just like the usual, where the girls and guys would play happily among themselves, but never together. As far as I can remb, it was like dat ever since primary school, when we were still in the same class.
Yup, I know, it seems a bit strange, but it’s certainly happening. Yet no one really make an effort to, you know, initiate interaction between the 2 big grps. Haiz. Maybe we could have BBQed food together (since Ching Siang was like the only one BBQing all the food), or even played bridge together (we were playing the same game but it was 4 girls one game, 4 guys another. Even then, 2 of the guys didn’t know how to play so most of the time they were trying to teach them instead of playing a real game).
Though that was the situation, we had fun anyway. I learnt some new games, like the one where everyone would pick a fruit name, can u’ll have to call out the name of the person who have the same card as you, and also the finger game. (: Most of the games we played were reaction games, and mostly I was the last to react. *sighz* But we had fun anyway, our pit was filled with lots of laughter.
Then came the time when we wanted to leave. Then came the problem. Cos our pit was at Changi Beach, and as u all know, it is one of the most ulu place in s’pore. We even had problems when we arrived. We took bus 19 from tampines mrt. Art a 20min ride, we saw the beach, but didn’t alight. A few bus-stops later, we alighted and started to walk back to that previous bus-stop. Upon reaching, we then realised that the bus-stop which we alighted was the right one. -.-“
We found out that 19 stops servicing at 7.45pm. That explains why other ppl came with tents – they don’t intend to go home. We walked out to the road, and tried to call a cab. None came. We then tried to flag, but there all only a few cars that past by, and the few taxis that did were hired. After a long time, we decided to walk to the bus-stop at the main road. We parted ways after tat, some to Vivo, others Downtown. End of bbq.
Sigh. Next year’s going to be a busy year, and I think that this bbq would be one of the gatherings where the most number of ppl would turn up. Well, let's hope that the morale will be higher the next time round we have a gathering! :)
Hey everyone, going back HWS on CNY eve? Maybe we could go have lunch aft that. This time, TOGETHER.
