Me introverted?
It was BP lesson. We were translating horoscope characteristics, When someone commented out of the blue that i’m an introvert.
That really got me into thinking. Do i really seem like an introvert? Well, i suppose i was quite reserved back in Sec One, And i can be quite reticent at times i would have to agree. Yet, despite the above, I do not think myself as introvert.
I do show introversion at times i would have to admit. However, these are the times when i have a lot on my mine and jus wanna have some space to have it thought out. Or it would be that i am not at peace with my surroundings and the people around, so much so that i decided to shut myself out of everything. In other words, i am in fact selectively introverted. I would, subconsciously, block out thos whom i dislike or do not wish to be associated with. Jus like what i would do on MSN, with my mind being the computer screen. Perhaps, these are the people that would find me withdrawn.
LiBing pointed out that if i’m introverted i wouldn’t be wearing a bright yellow watch. Although that didn’t seem to be of much relevance, at least it shows that she knows me. (:

CONTACTS LENS for one day.
I wore CONTACTS to school today! (:
Haha. No la. I still love my specs. Well, it’s a long story. Here goes:
Went for the 2-star kayaking course with 10 of my beloved tong jies @ pasir ris sea sports club. 4 of the ventures went with us too. It’s abit awkward at first la, but it was ok aft tat. Erm. The year 2s went for one-star kayak with the Year 1 ventures.
While we were doing the capsize drill, we left our bottles and specs next to 2 wooden planks on shore. But aft we were done with de drill, we saw that the 2 planks were gone and our bottles were moved. When i got there, i couldn’t see my specs. We went to comb the whole area for it lor, we even asked the sweeper. He at first say he didn’t see, and then say one of the guys took it. Haiz. Watever the case, i couldn’t find my specs.
I don’t understand why would anyone wanna steal specs lor. It’s like they cant even wear it cos of the degree diff. HAIZ.
The guider sent me home. Cos i’m quite blind without my specs. 600+ degrees is quite a big deal u know.
Went to make new specs. My new purple specs could only be ready on Monday aftnoon. (i wanted orange but they didn’t have any. I figured out that orange quite a common colour anyway. So i settled with purple (: ) But i need to see at lessons in the morning! So they were nice enough to lend me a pair of contacts.
Wearing contacts isn’t as difficult as i thought. I spent only 5 min wearing it leh, a vast improvement from the 15 min i took during the trail. Haha.
Contacts quite cool la. More convenient during PE and changing also.
But even if that’s they case, don’t think i’ll convert to contacts anytime soon lah. Won’t rule out wearing contacts in the future though! (:

Vibrant dhs!
In a blink on an eye, the March holidays flew past.
Or should i say it wasnt even a holiday at all? Ok, i shall rephrase.
In the blink of an eye, one week flew past.
Sounds better, isnt it?
haha. back to topic.
As i was saying, I've decided to use up the week to catch up on some sleep, esp aft the guides slpover (which is hardly call a slpover cos we didnt really sleep at all), and to do some of the stuff i missed doing ever since the beginning of the term.
On top of that , instead of using the March holidays to have fun outside, I have chosen to use 2 days of my time to serve the school – by painting some of the selected walls around the campus.
As part of the Art Club’s CCA activity, the teacher in charge got them to design and paint a part of the school. We students from the Art Elective Program were invited to participate. Though it’s optional, I jumped at the chance to do something for the school.
(Grace & i were like 2 out of the pathetic 3 AEP people there la. Apparently the rest were either too busy or rather spend their time doing something else.)
Our designs were mainly based on the wall paintings done by artist Keith Haring, as we thought his designs were simple yet eye-catching, something suitable for our school. Grace and I have decided to use circles as our theme, incorporating the porthole as part of them. The circles would be painted in black, with colourful objects drawn within.
Grace and I were assigned to work on the first porthole of the stairs in the foyer (the one leading to the staff room). As that is the place where most people had to pass by in order to access the main areas of the school, we were the pair that received the most comments.
I’m glad to say that almost all of them were positive ones. Many of the teachers, students and even the staff who passed by, commented that “(painting the wall is a) good idea. Adding colours to the blue and white school would add some vibrancy to the very-boring school.”
Dunman High is not much of an artsy place. I've alwasy thought of the lack of colours around the school made the school pretty dead looking. Though the big posters at the foyer made it slightly better, the rest of the school was only white and blue - not much of a condusive learning environment, you would agree.
It was hard work painting, and hearing the occasional ‘good job, keep going’ and ‘it’s really nice!’ really kept us going. It’s real good to feel that what you are doing is appreciated by the rest.
I can remember the security uncle especially well, coming over with a big smile on his face, a shout of ‘Good job girls! Keep it up!’ as well as a friendly wink. Really think that i could have done a better job acknowledging what they do around the school too.
As we couldn’t reach the top of the wall, we had to climb on top of the porthole in order to paint the upper region. It was quite sore for our arms as we had to use one hand to support ourselves while the other paint. Many who passed by, warned us to be careful, especially Mr Teo, who jokingly commented that we’re actually training our arm muscles while painting. We could see that the teachers were actually quite concerned about us, and could recognize the hard work we put in to make the school a more vibrant place.
2 of the teachers, Ms Koh & a teacher who sounds like Ming Quan, actually expressed so much enthusiasm that they wanted to join in the fun and requested that they too want to paint a part of the wall themselves! Hence, we dedicated 2 circles out of the many that we have for them to try their hand at painting.
After which, Ms Seow walked by and commented that the wall looked very 'guidy' (guides looking). Grace & I were stunned as we didnt use any guides element in the painting at all! She pointed out that the flower looked like one from guides. But the fact is, the flower was painted by Ms Koh! It's strange that even though we didnt mean it to be, the wall still looks 'guidy'. Well, all that i can say is, the wall is painted by guides afterall. A guide would always be a guide no matter what she does.
After so much hard work, I’m glad to see the wall finally finished. Although it’s not anything big, I sure hope the school body will appreciate the efforts we’ve put in.
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all our well-wishers and those who helped in one way or another while we were painting the wall. Your words of encouragements really brightened our day. ^_^
Me at work
Our finished wall!

a really belated post.
sorry sorry.. havent been able to have time to post. ok, so here's a short summery of what has been happening so far:
12/2 Went to Singapore Discovery Centre Had fun giving ChinYi & KenKoh birthday BASHES.
13/2 Had Math Test Lost nearly 8 marks due to carelessness ARGGH. feel like slapping myself
15/2 Lost at least 10 marks in HCL test cos i wasn't able to finish Oh well, could only blame myself for my slow speed Chinese-reading
16/2 Beginning of happy days. (: Went back to HWS with Yinmin, Ma & QianHui really glad to be able to catch up with them esp Yinmin. havent seen her for quite a while le! saw only very few ppl who went back why no one wanna go back during CNY eve? haiz. hope to see more ppl back next time!
17-21/2 CNY!! finally. i've been looking forward to CNY for so long liao lorz. it's the only form of a break i can get from sch. really ate a lot of new year goodies.. eat a lot, sleep a lot.. haha. really turning to a piggy le!
23-24/2 CHINGAY! yep. aft so many (useless) training sessions, it's finally the real thing! it was really unfortunate as it rained on both days... we were all drenched la, some ppl even got stuck at the toilet cos rain too big.. but luckily, the rain stopped by the peformance time (:
our grp were half-lane urshers, means we're in charge of the ppl siting on the sides of the road 4 of us are in charge of ticketing, while some are urshers at half-lane, others being rollar bladers. we had a fun time together as Grp 3.1 (:
we met lots of interesting ppl at the gates, including: Miss Christine Tan! think we both didn't expect to see each other there.. kiasu singapores queuing up 2 hrs b4 gates open lady who left her wallet on the other side of orchard rd ang-mo saying RIDICULOUS cos we stopped him from crossing the rd auntie who stamped her foot & even PUSHED the cisco officer jus cos she wanna cross the road. Why make such a big fuss over a closed road?? some ppl jus down mind embarrassing themselves infront of hundreds of ppl on orchard rd
it was a really fun experience, i really liked miggling with the crowd and stuff like dat (although i feel that it'll be SO MUCH BETTER w/o the trainings) really think we shld all volunteer for this type of things often it's really a whole new experience lor! i mean u only can really feel the atomsphere when u are sitting right there, not in front of the TV screen esp us half-lane ppl, who got to sit right where it was the closest to the preformacers!
however, it didnt come with it's bad points, it was really tiring la, having to be there for so long, reach home near midnight liao but we could never be as tired as our sector i/c and PA i/c la i would really like to thank them very much for taking care of us and ensuring that the event go on smoothly! i hope i can one day be like dat too..
25/2 our class went to Ms Seow's house had a hilarious time, laughing at the those really funny stuff and playing games never knew we could play games as such a big grp and have everyone enjoying themselves!
3/3 went to CO concert with xiaoyou saw miss tan jen fee, mr leong and his gf (think i saw xiangjing there too) they were gd. i mean really. they're the best Sec sch CO if i'm not wrong, but i almost fell asleep anyway, maybe cos i didnt sleep well last night luckily, i woke up thank you DHS CO! your concert was a gd one!
oh well, tat's the end of my summery. have to go tackle my pile of homework & projects, as well as plan guides activity le! guides having sleepover on fri leh! and QianHui having in march also! i'm really looking forward~ ^_^
