7 km Kayaking expedition to Coney Island.
Sounds cool aye?
[Ignoring the fact that 2 boys just drowned there 2 days ago]
It’s actually part of the 2-star kayaking course i took with my fellow tong jie.
There were actually 15 of us la.
But then Nicole didn’t come cos she needs to focus on her Project Superstar.
[Nicole got into Top 50 leh! So cool right?
She really has a nice voice. We’ll support Nicole all the way!!]
So only left 10 of us plus the 4 ventures.
The journey was tiring.
We chose Coney aft checking the tides cos it was along the current.
However, it didn’t help that we were going along current.
Though it might seem less energy consuming, it’s really hard to keep the kayake going straight, therefore causing me to end up going zig zag and thus was super slow. As a result, i’m always right at the back with the ventures singing right behind me. But i’m not going to complain. It was lucky for them to be behind as stern ppl lor. If not i would have drifted faraway to goodness knows where.
How glad was i to see the island.
My arms were aching, i longed for lunch.
I was extremely tired when we reached Coney Island.
We had a really time there though.
[Minus the sting by the jellyfish]
We played with water, sand, explored marine creatures, took photos with instructor Louis’s phone, ate lunch, just about everything.
We could even see OBS from there!
We couldn’t really bear to leave when we ought to.

the 14 of us~
jellyfish! it stung me lor!

orchidees love kayaking!
No doubt i was still the slowest,
the return journey was easier.
At least i can manage to control my boat a little better,
With advice from instructor Alex, who was observing me all the while.
Aft clearing up, then came the time to distribute the certs.
[there was no theory test surprisingly]
I really thought i was going to fail.
I cant believe that i passed! Till now i still haven’t got over the surprise.
Louis’s really efficient.
He actually took down our e-mails, and said he’ll inform us of any kayaking news & send us the photos,
But i didn’t expect his mail to be already in my mail box when i went check it in the evening!
Really can see that he’s really passionate abt kayaking, and is really trying his best to spark tat interest in us too.
Louis, YOU ROCK.
Thank you for everything!
yay, i'm now an official 2-star kayaker! (:
