to all trainees:
ATC 07, was the most unATC ever.
no Camp D was one thing.
but wat mattered most is the attitude.
we expected 150% effort, jus like wad we gave out during our years as trainees.
but sadly, wat we got was a mere 50%.
with all the trainers sashaying their way abt the campsite,
it was as if it were a Leisure Camp.
our expectations wasnt too high or in any way impossibel to attain.
it was their morale that was too low to ever achieve much out of the camp.
no, i'm not saying the entire camp was useless,
i could see the effort tt the Sec 3s put in to try to make the camp a successful one.
but wad was missing was the RIGHT ATTITUDE to how the trainees go abt doing things.
they took it the wrong way right from the start.
they treat the whole camp as if it was jus another guides activity,
a much dreaded one in fact.
it was jus more tough and tiring, and they jus had to do wat the normally do,
and hope to get out of this as fast as possible.
we've tried everything.
countless evaluations, PTs, 爱的教育, COH, dialouge sessions, sweat and tears,
we'rve tried it all.
but still no improvement.
we can scream & shout at you and you'll continue to give us the politically correct answer.
we can continue our scolding and you'll continue to slack your way thru.
we can carrying on the evaluations BUT IT WON'T WORK.
WHY IS THAT SO?
everything goes down to attitude.
if you treat evaluations as jus another scolding one day you'll jus get immune to it.
if you treat ATC as jus a mundane and strenuous activity, no doubt it'll be one.
if you hav no love for guides, and guides is jus but a mere CCA, so it'll be.
do you like being scolded all the time?
if your answer is NO, then WHY ARE YOU STILL REPEATING THE SAME OLD MISTAKE?!
do you think we really like to scold you this much?we're only doing so becos we dont want to see our dearest guides kua in your hands!to me,
guides is not merely a CCA, GUIDES IS FAMILY.GUIDES IS A PART OF MY LIFE.
i don't wish to see our beloved guides destroyed.
and us Sec 4s are doing EVERYTHING we can to try and stop this great catastrophe from happening.
but what wad good will it do if you dont wish to get out of ur comfort zone and do smth for guides for a change?
for the last time: STOP BEING SO SELFISHLearn to stop thinking abt you and yourself only, about how tired you are and everything.
Spare a thought for your fellow guides and seniors, arent they tired too?
What would the seniors feel about guides deteriorating as it is,
they hardwork all going down the drain and are at the verge of watching the downfall of guides?
DunmanHighCoy has a name to live up to,
so since you're part of it,
learn to love it jus like us Sec 4s did when we were your age,
find your sense of belonging, and passion will come naturally.
live up to it's reputation and don't let the efforts of generations of seniors before you be in vain.
i sincerely hope that the next time i am back,
i'll be able to see positive changes in your attitude,
no matter how small they may be.
MAY THE GUIDING LIGHT CONTINUE TO SHINE ON FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

updates (:
some updates:my subject combi is quite confirmed.
cos too few ppl chose CSE, so i had to choose CSC instead.
but CSC and Computing cant be both offered at H2 as the timetable clashes,
so i've decided to 'huo chu qu' and try HIST instead of Geog!
[i really wonder where i got my guts from. Hist H2 leh! can kill!!]
thanks miss tan for going thru the trouble to arrange for me!
so my final subj combi is: 4H2: Math, Econ, Computing, Hist + 1H1: CSCi jus hope i dont die.
in additon to my
web marketer job,
starting from last fri, i've started to
distribute flyers at Dhoby Ghaut Xchange!
but there seems to be some problems with de contact though. got to settle tat soon.
they expect me to finishe giving out 2000 flyers in 6 hrs!
they must be MADDD.
i gave out 500 each on fri and sat during my 2 hrs shift.
i manage to give out 900 on sun though!
really proud of myself. thanks to all the uncles & aunties who were there for the carnival!
(line dancing is great!~ i'll go learn tt one day. haha.)
anywayz, i wont work for that company again. humph.
went for the
Pre-lanuch party for Creative Home on Sat.
it's at this corner in RiverWalk building, a bit easy to miss if u dont know the place well.
lucky Jocelyn was there with me.
if not i would have jus
ROT there by myself la!
Seriously! that place was quite, erm, not my type.
oh and there was a performace by Paul Twohill,
i found out he's GAY. [yesh, he admitted it.]
the only good thing was we met lots of ppl (:
ohh! here's a warning for all u guys out there.
DONT STUFF URSELF FULL FOR SUPPER!
cos we didnt eat dinner, so went to Long John to have supper at 10plus.
we realised we shld hav shared a meal cos we were both super full.
i was so stuffed that i couldnt sleep until 2am la!
went to attend the
Business China Conference at NUS cultural centre on Mon.
had to take taxi there cos i got stomache.
it was raining somemore lor, harder to flag cab.
somemore the 1st cab that i flaged ddint even know how to get there!
and i had to flip the street directory for the 2nd one.
and there was a jam outside cos lots of cars were going in!
i had to follow this grp of ppl in high class suits to the security check gate,
where i waited for An Lao Shi and Ching Hsien, who were nice enough to come fetch me.
the conference was cool. there were big shots there like:
our Deputy Minister Wong, MM Lee and even the China Premier Wen Jia Bao!
worth my $9.70 taxi fare.
oh but the questions part was terrible.
all the China ppl snatch the chance by speaking out of turn la!
the Singaporean students got no chance to ask question at all,
even though they were standing by the mic alr.
these ppl shld really be educated on
BASIC MANNERS.GOOD NEWS: I hav been accepted into ISAC!
haha i'm really happy (:
and the chance to be in the committee too.
i really hope i'll do well enough to be accepted.
oh and my first assignment will be to atten the Raffles Community Leaders Fourm!

haha i was struggling with lots of thoughts yesterday,
eg. whether i shld 'huo chu qu' and
take Hist instead of Geog/Econs?
eg. what would i do if i dont get into ISAC! >.<
eg. whether i made a good choice for my future, and a whole long list of other worries.
(YES, i'm a problem kid i know.)
but then i decided to tackle each problem when it comes, and solve them one by one!
cos worry too much will have grey hair de!
so i found this song to cheer me up.
haha. i'm easliy contented,
it always take jus a good show/song to cheer me up!
so thought i'll share it with u guys!

today is, well, last minute.
i originally had plans for today:
Go for Creative Home then Xperience Qing Gong Yan,
but cos of last minute stuff, change to:
Kayaking with SwatTeng, Elvina, Jerome, WenYi, QuanYi, then HOME.
But
kayaking was FUNN.
except tt i had to borrow $30 frm Jerome for memebership renewal,
and tt we got scolded - but tt's cos of SOME people.
and my new W850i !yupp i changing phone. (:
it was giving me problems lor, cant close the batt cover.
lucky my auntie got it fixed at the hello! shop. (thanks!)
and also the job stuff.
i'll only work for SUNDAY and ChengYi wont work at all.
haiz. everything is just strange.
P.S. i still hope i can get into ISAC, even if they wanna kick 10 ppl! >.<

TIME FLIES, i realised.
I've jus been reminded by ChengYi yesterday that the 1st week of our holidays are abt to be over, then came to a point of realisation:
wah. time flies leh!i've been wanting to start on my GP since the beginning of the week and till now i havent' done anything!
so i went to the GP forum and found tt the Year 5s have each posted smth LONG there.
BRGGHH. it's really time to start.
i read the article.
didnt know what to do aft tt.
i didnt even know what to start with!
wad do they expect, i've NEVER seen a GP essay in my entire life and they expect me to write one?
wad do they take me for? WONDERGIRL?
i'm sorry but i'll hav to disappoint them.
wondergirl? definately not me.
ok la, i understand their good intentions.
i think we really need to get started early too.
or else cant complete with the rest of them le.
so
JIAYOU LE! have to chiong, yes, even during the hols.
well, nt say i haven been working hard.
i've been preparing for my ISAC interview.
and guess wad? i screwed it.
i didnt mean to. CRAP.
i've wanted to get in so badly. REALLY.
i'm just so disappointed in myself. BUT there's no way i'm letting the opportunity slip by jus becos i floped the interview.
i've decided:
if opportunity doesn't come, i'll go FIGHT FOR IT.so u know wad? i've decided to give myself a break today.
i sat in front of the TV, and FINALLY finished watching
放羊的星星!
i found out that it's quite nice la, actually. esp the back.
i like the sing sang by the girl,
u guys shld go have a go too, borrow the disc from me (:
so therefore after the rest, i've decided to spend the rest of my week productively,
doing my GP essay, going for work (yes i found one FINALLY)
practising my guitar and teaching the guides juniors stuff.
oh and here's a note to ppl:
start on wad u planned to do NOW!
or else you'll find that u'll have no time to do wad ever u wanted.
P.S. when are we starting on hiphop lesson ar? NO TIME LE!!!
dont procrastinate anymore!
TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE.

guitar (:
in response to xiaoyou's tag, here's my guitar post! haha (:
went to sch with my guitar on my back, wasnt used to it at first,
but guess i'll have too! since i've decided to join guitar for the next 2 years alr (:
the
IT dialogue session was nt at all wad i expected.
the
MOE officers there were fun!
not tt i expected them to be ultra strict and all,
but it some how broke my perception of adults ba,
some of them do crazy things too!
we spent abt 45 min interacting with each other,
4 of us + one MOE officer.
quite interesting to hear wad adults had to say abt our life.
she listened to our ideas, and gave insightful advice, we sure learnt quite a bit from her (:
and nope she isn't ur typical mum.
she watches Jap dramas with her daughter till 1am and go to work the next morning!
she play com games (those no brainer ones, according to her)
and
she is learning how to ride a motorbike!
and she plays guitar too!
aft tat was more sharing, abt how we hope to learn and everything.
all and all, it was FUNN! i didnt' regret going. (:
aft that was
GUITAR! my 1st guitar session (:
the instructor was quite friendly and lame at some point of times!
expect tt we were all having some difficulty with playing chords,
(we were so pathetic tt we had to play a single chord EACH)
it was rather fun and all ^_^
i didnt have time to eat lunch with xiaoyou, sorry!
so she bought nasi lemak for me which i ate aft guitar.
i still owe her $. oppz, paiseh.
when we left, i left my guitar bk with esther! *blurr*
poor esther has to help me keep it. apologies!
ohh we saw the ODAC ppl run during break. they were heiong!
the tennis ppl had trial today too.
and the 1st round of the ISAC ppl too!
OMG, i'm nervous abt ISAC interview too!it's sitll guitar tt's nice and accommodating (:

STARDUST!

OMG.
people, please dont be deceived by how seeemingly NORMAL the movie tittle is.
hidden behind the this actually lies this GREAT MOIVE!
i think it's undermined by the masses becos of the lack of publicity or smth.
but it's definatley not a movie to be missed.
well, i havent heard anything abt it b4 yesterday when i read the newspaper
the given rating was 4.5,
the reporter say both the book & moive very nice!
it was then i decided i MUST watch the movie no matter wad
then mrs bok was saying her class went to watch and said it was super nice!
haha. so 3 of us (Cindy, Elvina & me) didnt' go bowl with the rest of the class
and secretly went ot watch this. (:
okok. in conclusion. STARDUST ROCKS!
but i seriously think tt it deserves a better tittle.

Model UN Conference
we had a model of the UN conference in sch today with judges from MOE and all,
we were on our best behaviour,
with our ties on and everything, looking prim and proper.
we were suppose to be delegates representing different nations is a United Nation Conference settling.
so what was probably expected was some
international politics.
but wad it turned out to be was more like
CLASS POLITICS.erm, let's jus say the atomsphere was weird la. cos a certain grp frm a certain class
went all out to oppose wad the other delegations said,
it has caused much unhappiness to the rest of the delegates.
it wasn't like they HAVE to do it.
we could have easily passed all the resolutions by direct voting wad.
there simply wasnt a need to SLAM all the other resolutions made by grps nt from your classs.
maybe they jus cant bear to see that the other proposals are more popular then their own?
but their way of approaching it certainly isnt working.
their aggressive opposition got us furiously condemning them.
it's like i think their resolution not bad, my group could have votted for it,
but it's jus the way they treated the rest of the delegtes like they were all inferior or smth.
THAT's smth i cant stand.
the rest of the groups (those not from their class) couldn't too.
tt resulted in us forming this alliance,
to BOYCOTT their resolution altogether.
so in the end their well thought out paper failed.
it's not tt we are immature or smth.
but tt's how reality works!
u're suppose to MAKE FIRENDS with other nations,
and make them happy so tt they'll vote for u,
not condemn their resolutions.
and by doing tt, u're acutally turning all of them against u,
and you wont stand any chances of getting wad u want either.
it's definately a lose-lose situtaion if you look from the far sighted view.
during the prize presentation drumroll, all the ppl of tt class were shouting for them to win,
while all of us shouted for the other teams.
so, guess who won the best the best position paper & best delegation?
IT WASN'T THEM!actually i really thought it was going to be them.
cos to be fair, i think theirs was the most thought out paper,
with a lot of details and everything.
but i suppose, wad they lost out on was personal touch.
we live in a world where PERSUASION is the key,
so therefore,
NEVER CONFRONT, ALWAYS PERSUADE.tt was definately a valuable lesson learned.
