Attended this Central Spore CDC training course at IBMEC today.
I quite enjoyed it despite the very long duration (9am to 5pm?!)
Gained lots of insights as the trainer was really professional
and shared with us a lot about life and abt Working Together Successfully.
Most of the other participants there were nice too, esp the uncles tt were sitting with us. (:
Think the most rewarding thing tt i took home was the analysis of my personality type.
Well i supposed i've always liked to do personality tests,
but Daniel (our trainer) made me realise tt it'll actually be quite impt to know which type of person you are as it'll influence your career choice.
it'll be too late to enroll in a uni course then after a few lessons few tt it's not your cup of tea.
took this personality test tt i find quite accurate.
- Introvesrion VS Extroversion
- iNtuition VS Sensing
- Thinking VS Feeling
- Perceiving VS Judging
i scored IN(T/F)P,
which in my case I’m found to be
slightly expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
expressed both thinking & feeling personality
slightly expressed perceiving personality
and from tt the trainer actually deduced tt i:
will tend to isolate myself from people I’m not comfortable
like to spend quiet time alone
like to think but if I cant think of solutions I’ll use intuition
do work at the last minute
my desk is always in a state of an ‘organized mess’
if I cant solve problem I’ll panic and get stressed
and which they are true!
Haha tt’s why I decided to use these results to help me make a better career choice.
Hmm.. abt the introversion part.
Yeah I agree I’m an introvert lah,
Actually I have been working hard to try to strengthen my extroversion.
Not tt I don’t like being an introvert,
But it’s simply more rewarding to be more extroverted at times.
As the trainer said, introverts can be extroverts at times too.
Jus tt we will die down aft a while as we might not have as much energy to last thru out as the extroverts does.
Which I agree (:
Erm about the Thinking VS Feeling part.
I scored more or less equally
so yeah I agree tt I tend to neglect ppl’s feelings at times,
(usually tt’s when I’m very stressed).
Other than tt I’m usually good with people.
And tt actually categorized me as an Idealist – smth I had wanna break away from.
INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.
[haha. Tt’s why I tend to talk to myself sometimes ]
INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to almost anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.
[ yeah this is so super true! ]
A major concern for INTPs is the haunting sense of impending failure. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves. The open-endedness (from Perceiving) conjoined with the need for competence (NT) is expressed in a sense that one's conclusion may well be met by an equally plausible alternative solution, and that, after all, one may very well have overlooked some critical bit of data. An INTP arguing a point may very well be trying to convince himself as much as his opposition. In this way INTPs are markedly different from INTJs, who are much more confident in their competence and willing to act on their convictions.
[ yeah this is true to some extent too. I’m super indecisive ]
Healers (INFP) are the most sensitive to the underlying emotional current. If that current is negative and they can’t fix it, they will find a way to withdraw.
[ tt’s why I isolate myself ]
INFP Artisans believe that variety is the spice of life, and that doing things that aren't fun or exciting is a waste of time. Artisans are impulsive, adaptable, competitive, and believe the next throw of the dice will be the lucky one. They can also be generous to a fault, always ready to share with their friends from the bounty of life. Above all, Artisans need to be free to do what they wish, when they wish. They resist being tied or bound or confined or obligated; they would rather not wait, or save, or store, or live for tomorrow. In the Artisan view, today must be enjoyed, for tomorrow never comes.
[ haha yeah! ]
Idealists are the most variable in their needs for a study environment. However, one thing that can strongly affect their ability to study is the emotional temperature around them, even if it doesn’t directly include them. Idealists find that a positive aura has a synergistic effect on their work output.
[ yah! I so agree! ]
The most sensitive of the Idealists is the Healer (INFP). While their list of jobs may echo that of other Idealists, they are more drawn to express their own unique vision of the world that all other types, so their work cannot help but be unique. They interpret their visions in the world of music, art, entertainment, or dance. As a professor or teacher, counselor or social worker, they often unlock the mysteries of life for those they encounter. In business they are drawn to organizational development and human resources careers. They may have a religious calling or seek work as a librarian. Their careers need to be in alignment with their personal values.
All Idealists seek to have a life of meaning, to help themselves and others grow to be the best that they can be. They do not want to be a copycat of someone else, but want to be seen as a unique and valuable individual.
Haha yup so most of tt is true lah.
Maybe it’s cos I like to make informed choices and plan early,
It’s the career choice tt I’m most concerned about.
At first I was thinking about: Marketing, Human Resource.
Then the analytical side of me though Banking & Finance was better.
But then I’m not really tt interested in accounting.
Haiz. Maybe I’ll jus work in the HR dept of a bank? Haha
I shld go seek advise from my trainer (:
ohh not forgetting the one we took in class during PW,
i'm a FOX + OWL = FOWL?!
haha yeah i scored 31 for both.
so far only HongSheng's score same as mine i think.
oh and LiBing & Keith were the extreme ends in our class (turtle & shark).
haha (:
yeah profiling is FUNN.
[a super accurate profiling test cost hundreds of dollars! ]
heard tt we'll be doing the above profiling test in sch during term 2 (:
who knows, maybe there would be a slight change to my personality by then~
