i kept mistaking the actual day to be Sun,
simply cause it's dated 7 Dec.
lucky mervyn reminded me it's supposed to be Sat night (;
anyway we went for a midnight movie at bugis!
because of my absolute objection to watching horror shows,
we watched BOLT!
thanks to the guys for being accomodating ((:
we meet the scouts in the cinema,
with us wearing black and thme wearing white
no it wasnt pre-arranged,
(i'm refering to both meeting them & wearing colour-combi shirts)
but it certainly made walking there more fun, with an overdose of replays from Bolt scenes - i found Nic's Super-Bark command re-invented SHUT UP particularly funny ((:
[and nope we didnt get lost despite the fact what it was past mid-night cause we were on my turf (: ]
and i would jus like to mention that Bolt's #1 fan RHINO is SUPER CUTE!
i especailly like that part when he mentions he eats danger for breakfast!
rhino! <33
when we reached there,
despite having to wave and shout (haha that part was only me i think)
it wasn't long before we found the rest!
ohh but i would like to mention: THEY KEEP BULLYIN ME! HUMPH.
we spent a long time queuing (a-hem) before we found our leader & made our way to Drink Station 2 on foot.
thought our group had generally nice ppl,
though DHS ppl consisted of half the grp. haha.
we spent a lot of our breakfast time entertaining ourselves as expected.
with them eating fishball fried mee and me eating my hotdog bun.
but they were saying some sick joke that almost got me choke on it. ><
we didnt take a long time to set up and get ready!
geraldine and i found out that pouring drinks is quite fun!
the whole thing was a bit like diner's dash!
a pity we dont really have a lot of runners running past us though.
it was only the 42km-ers and half-marathon 21km-ers and not the 10km-ers.
but still, it was a good experience!
and we were quite efficient at cleaning up the rubbish too!
the cups espeically! ((:
we were so efficient that we finished super early,
we even started walking back to the finishing point when they called half of us back to clear stuff off the road.
who knows that due to total bad organisation,
there was this loose end yet to be tied up and
we had to clear up the mess for them,
although in full knowledge that we're jus in fact making another mess for the movers to clear up.
and it didnt' help to have someone shouting all the AP comments while the rest of us were trying to live with whatever job that we had to do.
all the "EXCUSE ME!!!" & "EYE POWER"only added on to the fury in our hearts even though we were civil enough not to show it like you did.
yesh we know you are pissed with doing sai-kang,
but have you spared a thought for all of us who are just as pissed but are trying not to show it knowing that it'll only lower the morale of the rest?
shouting at others doesnt make the job easier you know.
though u might be unwilling to try out new ideas,
cant you at least try to be considerate?
we are only trying to think of a more efficient way.
ok fine if you dont want to listen to us.
but cant you at least listen to what your friend had to say?
working in a team makes will make things easier if you even stop headbutting sturbbonness to realise.
ARRGHH.
i've complained enough so i shall not rant about it futher here,
but all in all it just made me super pissed.
Period.
ohh but we met our seniors (TienLeng & YiWei) cheering ppl on at the finishing line,
so that sort of lightened my mood a bit (:
though i wouldnt count that as a super good experience,
it doesnt mean that i cannot learn smth from it.
i think i begin to see the need to shut up and just stick with it,
in the case of working by instrustions despite how stupid they might be.
and remaining silent in the face of someone as unreasonable,
no matter how much endurance that might need.
in a nutshell i learn to better deal with difficult situations and difficult people lah.
but that guy really need to have some patience in him.
i know this kind of volunteering if is different from the kind that i saw in Life Transformers,
[yup it's the 8pm every Mon Channel 8, but sadly it's the last episode today?]
but i seriously recommand him to go watch that series.
i think he really can learn a lesson or two there (:
despite the ups and downs,
generally it was a good experience lah,
but different from my 1st session with the Deep Heat ppl in 2006.
oh well, this was a whole new kind of experience i suppose,
learning how to deal with AP ppl and more.
it was certainly an experience worthwhile (:
